A training programme on market-oriented farm management in Zambia. It will be interactive, learning-based programme which will be designed to help professional extension workers in various districts of the country support smallholder farmers, various farmer groups, Women and Youth, processors, Cooperatives who are beginning or who are already selling produce on the market. The aim is to increase the capacity of these farmers and groups to manage their farms effectively to increase their profitability.

Objectives
The specific objectives of the short course are that at the end of the training, the participants will be able to:
- Identify the basic universal questions facing every farm business entity and find suitable answers to address these questions
- Understand and appreciate the processes and procedures for undertaking farm business
- Identify the various classes of resources required by agribusinesses and how to manage them for optimum output
- Take inventory of agribusiness resources and keep proper records of them
- Use basic farm management a tools (budget, gross margin, Cash Flow and profitability) to assess the performances of businesses
