International Students

INFORMATION PLATFORM FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS

You are warmly welcome to the Mulungushi University page and may I hasten to thank you for finding time to read through this page. At this juncture, allow me to inform you that Mulungushi University is the third public university in Zambia which came onto the Zambian higher education scene in 2008. Since then, it has grown in leaps and bounds and it is today recognized as one of the famous Universities both at home and abroad.

At Mulungushi University, we pride ourselves on our RARE (Responsible, Accountable, Relevant, Ethical) value system which makes us indeed a RARE university. Arising from this unique RARE value system, we put a high premium on producing graduates of high moral standing; that value humanity and that has respect for public resources, that is corrupt-free, and that are morally upright. And in order to inculcate these attributes into our students, we have a signature course that is mandatory for all our students as they enter their first year called “Sustainable Behaviour in Society”

Dear prospective students and sponsors, may I disclose to you that due to our industry-tailored programmes, graduates of Mulungushi University are the most sought by the industry. This will be the case even for you if you chose to study with us.

Other reasons why you should study with us are as follows:

  • We have a well-stocked Library
  • We offer furnished hostels
  • We have a serene environment conducive to learning and teaching away from the hustle and bustle of town
  • We have highly qualified and experienced academic and administrative staff to attend to all your needs and queries.

To buttress it up, Zambia is a very peaceful and friendly country and Mulungushi University will make you feel at home away from home.

I personally had opportunities to study both in Zambia and at international universities. I remember my own days studying abroad when I was a graduate student. I am still grateful for the opportunity to

have spent time living in another country, rather than merely passing through as a visitor. I not only learned a great deal about other cultures, but I also learned a lot about myself and about my abilities. Congratulations on choosing to push yourself in pursuit of that kind of experience. I, therefore, wish you the best as you go through our website and try to pick the programme of your choice. Please, do so!

What importance does the University place on international students?

Mulungushi University is proud to be a university that is open to the world and for that reason, we always do our best to ensure that you have the best academic and personal experience of your life! And, of course, you will have the opportunity to experience the famous Zambian hospitality with the help of your fellow students and lecturers, and also with the help of a city and its people that will make you feel at home.

Do International Students pay the same tuition fees as the other students?

Yes, International students pay the same fees as Zambian students, the only difference is the application fee which is K150 for Zambian students and $50 for International students.

Do you offer accommodation to International students?

Yes, the University offers both self-catering and non-self-catering student accommodation on a first come first served basis. Inevitably, foreign students are given preference. You can book your accommodation online once  50% payment of your semester fees has been deposited in the University account.

Does the University have a well-stocked Library?
